Septoplasty: say goodbye to permanently stuffy nose
If your nose is constantly stuffy, you are forced to breathe through your mouth, and suffer from chronic snoring or nosebleeds, you are very likely to have a deviated nasal septum. Even though your nose looks straight from the outside, your septum might still be deviated. This deviation, caused by cartilaginous growth abnormalities in childhood or a nasal bone fracture, occurs when the cartilage separating the nostrils is displaced or bent.
This alteration may go unnoticed because part of the nose is flexible, especially in children. However, breathing problems may arise over time, sometimes accompanied by frequent nosebleeds or even a loss of sense of smell, all things that will make your life really uncomfortable.

In my practice, I prefer to use the endonasal endoscopic technique, which allows me to be much more precise and to perform a small internal incision without cutting the outer skin, so as not to leave visible scars.
Some patients, whether men or women, elect to have their nose reshaped at the same time as having septal surgery. This is a cosmetic surgery called rhinoplasty. The combined procedure is called rhinoseptoplasty and allows for the surgical, functional and cosmetic correction of the nose in a single surgery.
